Pilimania Reaches its 7th Anniversary

In connection with the 70th Charter Day of Naga City, the Naga City Pilimania celebrated its seventh anniversary on June 15, 2018 at NVAC Pili Sanctuary Farm.

      The occasion was graced by Hon. Mayor John G. Bongat, and the first lady, Mrs. Farah Bongat who is the brainchild of the said activity. Mayor Bongat emphasized in his inspirational talk his presence in the program that it was his priority because NVAC had made him feel important as a leader.

      Three hundred pili trees were planted inside the Pili Sanctuary Farm in participation of the  students, faculty and staff, city hall officers, barangay officials, and other guests. The overall number of Pili trees totaled to 1,350 Pili trees covering nine to ten hectares of the farm.

      The program’s main objectives were to support the National Greening Program of the city government and to be one step closer in making Naga City a big supplier of pili products.         

      Other officials in the program included Engr. Alexander N. Caning, City ENRO, and Hon. Salvador del Castillo, City Councilor Committee on Environment. The Bureau of Fire Protection and Naga City Police Department were also in the said event doing their precautionary duties.
